NC’s Province 2 convention put off, to be held after 14th Gen Convention

KATHMANDU: Provincial convention of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) in Province 2 has been put off as some electoral constituencies are yet to elect the delegates for the convention.

According to Ramesh Rijal, the party’s election coordinator in the province, the provincial convention will be held immediately after the 14th General Convention of the party.

The NC is holding its general convention in Kathmandu from December 10 to 12.

All four constituencies of Sarlahi, one each of Rautahat and Saptari districts have not yet elected delegates for the provincial convention. Similarly, the constituency-level convention of Mahottari-3 was also invalidated resulting in the postponement of Province 2’s convention.

The other seven provinces elected new executive committees through the conventions held in respective provinces that began on Thursday, last week.
