Bibeksheel Sajha leader Thapa passes away

KATHMANDU, June 1: Ujjwal Thapa, former Chairman of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, who was undergoing treatment after being infected with the coronavirus disease for the past few weeks, passed away at 4:25 PM on Tuesday. 

Thapa was being treated through the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) method at Nepal Mediciti Hospital after his health further deteriorated. He, however, tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday. 

Thapa had founded Bibesksheel Nepali Dal on May 28, 2012 in a bid to introduce an alternative political party in Nepal. The party was later merged to Sajha Party to form Bibeksheel Sajha Party.
