SMC Federation demands concrete plans for continuing with teaching learning activities


KATHMANDU, May 4: The Community School Management Committee Federation of Nepal (SMC Federation) has demanded with the government to come up with concrete plans to continue teaching learning activities in community school.

All the schools and other academic institutions have been closed in the wake of the outbreak of second wave of Covid-19 in the countries. While many of the private schools have resorted to alternative learning methods to pursue the teaching learning amid the health crisis, not all community schools fare well in this aspect.

Issuing a press statement here, the Federation said that the parents of the students in community schools were concerned about their children’s studies in lack of clear plan and alternative learning method. 

The Federation, an umbrella organization having approximately 30,000 community schools management committee in the country, said that it had submitted an attention letter to Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha on April 24 but to no avail. 

Federation’s President Krishna Thapa and general-secretary Gunaraj Moktan, in the press statement, demanded with the government to put in place necessary alternative methods to continue with teaching learning activities and conducts all the exams on time.
