Bangladeshi National Apprehended in Jhapa While Illegally Entering Nepal

Kakarbhitta. Police in Jhapa have taken a Bangladeshi national into custody who was trying to enter Nepal illegally via India.

MD Saiful Islam, 33, who was crossing the border unauthorized with a Bangladeshi passport, has been arrested.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, he was taken into custody at 12:45 PM on Saturday from the Gaigai Gaun area of Mechinagar Municipality-6.

Islam, whose permanent address is Tulatoali Kachhua Manoharpur-3630, Chandpur, Bangladesh, is the son of MD Tajul Islam.

He was found attempting to illegally enter Nepal using the route of the Mechi River bank via the Panitanki area of India.

The police team from the Kakarbhitta Area Police Office, which was monitoring the border area, became suspicious and upon investigation, it was revealed that he was trying to cross the border illegally.

Police stated that a Bangladeshi passport was also recovered from the arrested Islam.

District Police Office Jhapa's Information Officer, Police Inspector Vijay Chauhan, informed that he has been sent to the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu for necessary investigation and legal action.
