Infographics: 249 people succumbed to COVID-19 in April

47,499 people tested positive for virus in just 30 days

KATHMANDU, May 1: Nepal reported a total of 249 deaths linked with coronavirus infection in the last month. 

Triggered by the new variant of the virus, the country has witnessed the second wave of the disease in April, this year. 

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 47,499 people tested positive for the virus between April 1 and 30. The highest single day count (5,727) was recorded on the last day of the month while only 152 cases were detected on April 1.

The country witnessed the highest ever single day deaths of 35 on April 29.
