Cause of death of woman in Dhulikhel will be revealed after further tests

Kathmandu - The cause of the death of a woman of Sindhupalchowk district will be known after further tests of her swabs for COVID-19, said the Ministry of Health and Population. Details of the deceased have been collected and cause of her death would be known after the test, said Dr Bikash Devkota at a regular press conference organised here on Saturday by the Ministry.

"Swabs of the deceased are being tested. All details of the cause of her death will come out thereafter," he said. The woman, who was admitted for delivery at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on May 5, was discharged on May 6 after giving birth, he said.

The 29-year-old was taken to a local hospital in Sindhupalchowk after complaining of fever and respiratory problems. She was referred to Kathmandu and died on the way to Dhulikhel Hospital, said Dr Devkota.
