Govt efforts timely, effective to control COVID-19: President Bhandari

Kathmandu - President Bidya Devi Bhandari has claimed that government took timely and effective measures to control COVID-19 at a time when the entire world has been struggling to cope up with this crisis. President Bhandari said it while addressing the joint meeting of the federal parliaments today.

She also argued that government's performance in the past two years was successful. The government is committed to realizing the national ambition of 'Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali' for the protection of country, and citizen and boost the national glory.

The President stressed the need of unity, confidence and cooperation among the world community to overcome the COVID-19 menace. Priority of the government at present is the protection of human race and values, according to her.

She, however, said the COVID-19 has badly dented every sector while the country was making headway to prosperity with peace, security and end of corruption. Restoration of health, education, employment and economy are present priorities after the COVID-19 impacts, the President reminded.
