Two more cases of COVID-19 reported in Birgunj

Kathmandu - Two more persons, locals of Chhapkaiya at Birgunj Metropolitan City Ward no. 2 and 3 in Parsa district have been tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. The PCR test report of both males resulted in positive and they have been kept in isolation wards in Narayani Hospital in Birgunj, according to the Hospital.

One among the infected has been identified as the staffer of Birgunj Metropolitan City working in the Department of Sanitation, according to Narayani Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Madan Upadhyay. The nasal and throat swabs of 52 suspected persons were collected from Chhapkaiya and sent to Kathmandu four days ago.

Among them, two men from Birgunj were reported to have infected COVID-19. The area where these two males reside have been sealed and the test of the family members of the infected ones were being forwarded by keeping them under home quarantine, according to the District Administration Office, Parsa.

Similarly, four among five infected with COVID-19 who were in isolation wards in Narayani Hospital have been sent home today after their swab report came negative. They were three Indian nationals and one 19-year-old Nepali youth from Rautahat, according to the Hospital. There are currently three COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment in the Hospital.
