Ahead of local polls, RPP and Bibeksheel Sajha Party prepares for unification

KATHMANDU, March 23: Ahead of local level polls, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-led by Rajendra Lindden and the Bibeksheel Sajha Party-led by Rabindra Mishra are preparing to unite.

The two parties have been holding a series of meetings on this regard for the past few weeks, according to Bhuvan Phatak, the general secretary of RPP. “So far, the discussions are positive.”

According to a high-level RPP source, two parties are set to announce the unification soon. However, the parties are yet to finalize the name for the new party.

The RPP has suggested keeping RPP as the name of the new party after unification while the Bibeksheel Sajha Party has suggested RPP Sajha or Sajha RPP.

Even Though, Mishra has agreed to have plough as an election symbol, he has demanded a figure of beam balance in the party's flag.
