Ruling alliance splits as Rastriya Janamorcha Party withdraw its support to Deuba-govt

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: A day after the government ratified the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal Compact, a member of the ruling alliance, Rastriya Janamorcha Party, has withdrawn its support to the government.

The secretariat meeting of the party held earlier this morning took the decision to this effect.

With this, the ruling alliance has split. The ruling alliance now includes, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).

The party has viewed the ratification of the MCC-Nepal compact as a conspiracy and accused other members of the alliance of acting against the sovereignty and independence of the nation.
