Three DIG positions vacant following Arjun Chand's retirement
Kathmandu, December 16 — Arjun Chand, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police, has retired after reaching the age limit of 56.
He officially retired on December 15. Chand joined the police force alongside Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Kunwar on 19th March, 1995.
With Chand's retirement, three DIG positions in the police force have become vacant.
DIGs Durga Singh and Bharat Bahadur Bohora have been recommended for promotion to Additional Inspector General (AIG) by the promotion committee on December 12.
This move leaves the three DIG positions vacant until the decision on their promotion is made by the Cabinet.
Police officers suggest that before the Cabinet finalizes the promotions of Singh and Bohora, three Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) could be promoted to the vacant DIG positions.
