Complaints can’t be lodged against president as she has discretionary right while implementing constitution: PM Oli

KATHMANDU, May 23:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that no complaint can be filed  against President Bhandari  as she has the right to exercise the discretionary power while implementing the articles enshrined in the constitution.

PM Oli’s statement came in the wake of opposition parties' preparation to lodge a writ petition against President Bhandari and himself against the move of dissolving House of Representatives (HoR).

Speaking at a press conference at his official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday afternoon, PM Oli said that President Bhandari can use her discretionary right while enacting Article 76 (5) of the constitution.

On the occasion, he also tried to justify the move of House dissolution citing that there was no alternative left other than dissolving House as per the Article 76 (7) as no government could be formed. "There is no room for complaint against the president’s move when it comes to using discretionary right. '
