Nepal Army preparing to recall its retired health workers to duty amid coronavirus pandemic
KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepal Army (NA) is preparing to recall its retired health workers to duty in order to address the manpower crunch amid the second wave of the coronavirus disease in the country.
Issuing a directive on Wednesday afternoon, the army asked all the retired medics to remain in standby position in order to serve the nation at this time of pandemic.
According to the NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, those who have retired after 2072 BS from the health services will be asked to rejoin the duty in the fight against COVID-19.
Earlier, the government also announced to hire the retired health professional for a year on contract in view of the manpower crisis to tackle the disease.
