Activist Sonam Wangchuk Ends 26-Day Hunger Strike Supporting NEET-UG Aspirants

New Delhi. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended his 26-day hunger strike. He was on a hunger strike in support of students' demands regarding the NEET-UG paper leak incident.

He broke his fast in the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh, as well as senior leaders of the Apex Body of Leh-Ladakh.

Wangchuk wrote on social media 'X' (Twitter), "Earlier, 65 MPs from various political parties had urged me to break the fast by writing a letter." He stated that this decision was taken after long discussions under various conditions and keeping in mind the possibility of potential violence in the country.

He clarified that he would provide detailed information about these conditions soon through a separate video. Meanwhile, he made a special appeal to his supporters and the public to prevent any kind of violence anywhere and to remain vigilant.

Students have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for the past month against the leak of the NEET-UG examination paper. Protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
