Raghubir Mahaseth Emphasizes Connectivity, Modernization for Nepal's Progress

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Deputy General Secretary Raghubir Mahaseth has stated that physical and digital connectivity, modernization of agriculture, and industrial expansion are indispensable for Nepal's prosperity and development. 

He expressed this view while addressing a discussion program on '105 Years of the Communist Party of China: Historical Experience and Nepal's Development'. 

Mentioning that Nepal's development priorities are clear, leader Mahaseth stressed the need to increase investment in quality education, health, and innovation. He stated that environmental conservation, strengthening democratic institutions, social justice, and preserving Nepal's unique cultural heritage are equally important responsibilities of the state. 

Discussing the bilateral relations between Nepal and China, Deputy General Secretary Mahaseth mentioned that the friendship between the two countries is based on mutual respect, sovereign equality, and peaceful coexistence. He stated that Nepal-China relations, guided by the principles of Panchsheel, have been strong and stable for decades.

During his speech, he said, 'We must create meaningful employment for the youth and effectively utilize the opportunities created by the digital economy and emerging technologies. Today, cooperation between Nepal and China has expanded to infrastructure development, trade, investment, tourism, education, health, disaster management, and people-to-people relations. This partnership has not only supported Nepal's development aspirations but also contributed to regional connectivity, stability, and shared prosperity.'

He argued that the ultimate measure of development is the improvement in the standard of living of the citizens. Recalling that Nepal and China have always respected each other's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and choices for independent development, he expressed confidence that the partnership based on mutual interests between the two countries will deepen further in the coming days.
