Kanchanpur Local Units Begin Land Survey for Unorganized Residents and Landless Citizens

Kanchanpur. Local levels in the district have started land measurement for the management of land of unorganized residents and landless citizens.

There are nine local levels in the district. Most of the municipalities have deployed technical teams and started land measurement work in various wards.

Shuklaphanta Municipality Mayor Ran Bahadur Mahara said that measurement has started from today by reaching the ward level. He informed that measurement is being done in wards no. 5, 10, and 11 of the municipality.

Shuklaphanta Municipality, which has about 12,000 landless squatters, landless, unorganized residents, and landless Dalits, has stated that it will hand over the land survey work to the Land Commission for distribution of land ownership certificates after all the measurement work is completed.

Similarly, Krishnapur Municipality here has also started land measurement within the municipality since two days ago. Information Officer Prem Bogati informed that land measurement work has been started in wards no. 5 and 6 of Krishnapur Municipality of Kanchanpur.

In Laljhadi Rural Municipality here, land measurement work has been completed in all wards except for a few wards. The chairman of the rural municipality, Nirmal Rana, informed that re-measurement needs to be done in ward no. 5 and work is currently underway in ward no. 1. This municipality has more than four thousand landless squatters, landless, unorganized residents, and landless Dalits.
