Nepal Taru Union First General Convention Begins

Kathmandu. The first general convention of the Nepal Taru Union, close to the Nepali Congress, has started today. The convention was inaugurated by Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa at the central office of Congress in Sanepa, Lalitpur. The Taru Union has stated that it is organizing the first general convention based on the core principles of nationality, democracy, socialism, and unity of the Taru community. It is said that the general convention will elect a new leadership and determine the future course of action and policy. According to the leaders of the union, the general convention has been organized with the objective of making the organization more active in protecting democratic values and principles by strongly raising issues related to the rights, identity, language, culture, and representation of the Taru community.
