Rabi presented before court for remand extension

Pokhara, November 24 — President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has been presented to the court. After the 13-day remand granted for investigation into cooperative fraud, property-related issues, and organized crime expired on Friday, he was taken to the court for an extension.

Lamichhane was arrested on October 19 from Kathmandu. Along with him, Chhabilal Joshi, Lila Pachaai, and Ramprasad Khanal were also taken to court.

The police have requested additional time for investigation. If the remand is extended, Rabi will be transferred to Kathmandu.

Chhabilal Joshi, against whom an arrest warrant was issued for misappropriation of funds at the Swarnalakshmi Multipurpose Cooperative in Kalimati, Kathmandu, has already given his statement in Kathmandu.

Similarly, Joshi, detained for misusing funds of the Surya Darshan Cooperative in Pokhara, was taken to Kathmandu for statements following additional complaints filed there.

Since an arrest warrant has also been issued against Rabi Lamichhane by the Kathmandu District Court in this case, he will also be transferred to Kathmandu for further statements.
