Durga Prasain writes open letter to supporters from police custody

Kathmandu, November 24 — Durga Prasain, currently in police custody, has written a lengthy letter addressing his supporters. He shared his experiences from custody in the letter, which was made public through his Facebook account via his secretariat.

He wrote, “Until one experiences custody, there is a curiosity about when the government might climb the stairs to deliver punishment as a gift for speaking the truth and then take you into custody. Once you are in custody, that momentary curiosity fades, replaced by focus and countless troubling questions.”

Prasain shared that he recently finished reading the autobiography of B.P. Koirala in the dark confines of the custody room. He stated, “I deeply appreciated B.P.’s autobiography, and by the time I finished reading it, I was overwhelmed with immense respect for him.”

He also mentioned learning from the book about how B.P. Koirala dedicated his life, even from his youthful days, to the liberation of the people of South Asia.

Prasain further claimed to have invested his time and resources in matters linked to Cambodian investments allegedly associated with Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli.

He asserted that the evidence he has made public is 100% truthful and has demanded an investigation into the matter.
