Gairigaun murder case: 5-member committee formed for investigation

KATHMANDU, Sep 16: A 5-member committee has been formed to investigate the murder of four people in Gairigaun, Tinkune, Kathmandu. The committee was formed under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Somendra Singh Rathore.

Kathmandu Valley Police Office has informed that three Deputy Superintendents of Police including Hari Khatiwada, Subash Khadka, Surakshya KC and Police Inspector Birendra KC are the members of the committee led by Rathore.

The Office has requested the committee to investigate the incident in a subtle manner, using various investigation methods as possible and submit a report as soon as possible.

Four people were murdered in Gairigaun last night with the use of sharp weapons at Dibya Sawmill in Tinkune. Three of the four victims were found to be from the same family.

The victims are Kumar Bhujel, 56, of Dolakha who was working as a gatekeeper in the sawmill, his wife Ambika Bhujel, 52, Kumar's mother, Shubhadra Bhujel,76, and Nabin Rai, age 20, originally from Belbari in Morang.

Their bodies were found with injuries from sharp weapons on different parts of their bodies including the head in the sawmill.
