Private schools declare strike against School Education Bill

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: The administrators of private schools have declared a strike against the proposed School Education Act 2080.

PABSON, NPABSON and HISSAN expressed their disagreement with some of the issues included in the bill and announced the strike in a joint press conference.

As part of the strike, they announced an indefinite closure of schools from the 13th of August. The Chairman of PABSON, DK Dhungana, demanded the government to give a written response before the closure of schools.

The draft includes a provision to transform all institutional schools into education trusts within 5 years. Private school administrators have raised serious objections to the matter.
