LOD minor rape case: Club owners not to be prosecuted

KATHMANDU, July 26: The Public Prosecutor's Office Kathmandu has decided not to prosecute the Lord of the Drinks (LOD) club owners, Rajusingh Suwal and Rudil Ballav Shrestha, in the minor rape case.

Earlier, Rajusingh Suwal and Rudil Ballav Shrestha were arrested by the police from Baluwatar on Thursday evening for allowing a 15-year-old girl to enter the club on the 13th of June. They were released under "trusteeship" by a public prosecutor. The manager of the club, Sahadev Sedhai, was also arrested.

A 15-year-old minor who went to the LOD club was raped by 50-year-old Sudan Koirala from Pokhara, who took her to his room in Lalitpur on the 14th of June. Koirala is currently detained in Lalitpur District Police Range.

The District Public Prosecutor's Office Chief, Achyutamani Neupauane, informed Ratopati that a case has been registered against 3 people, including club manager Sahdev Sedhai. "The case has been registered and the testimony has started", he told Ratopati.

The case was registered against Sapana Dhungana and another employee, both of whom were working at the counter of the club.
