Student faints after teacher's beating, accused person arrested

KATHMANDU, July 6: A teacher has brutally beaten a student at Shrikrishna Secondary School in Chandragiri Municipality-1 of Kathmandu.

The grade 8 student Ashmita Pariyar was beaten unconscious by the teacher. Dr. Ekraj Pandit, who allegedly beat the student to unconsciousness, has been taken into Police custody, Principal Balram Karki told Ratopati.

The teacher has been accused of beating the student indiscriminately on her head, ears and her face. The student has been admitted to Om Samaj Hospital for treatment. The police are conducting further investigations regarding the case.
