PM discusses with Finance Minister and Governor

KATHMANDU, Jan. 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has held a discussion with Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel and Nepal Rastra Bank's Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari.  The topics for the discussion held on Wednesday were the current economic condition of the country, problems seen in banking, and things that need immediate action for improvement.

In the discussion held at the Prime Minister's residence Baluwatar, PM Dahal showed an interest in the obstacles and challenges in the banking sector. He emphasized reducing the interest rates and reforming the monetary policy regarding the liquidity problem as well as other necessary initiatives.

In the discussion, Prime Minister Dahal said that due to the challenges in the country's economy, it is necessary to find ways to minimize the impact on the people, stop the flow of loans to unproductive areas, and make the people well-informed and aware about the state of the economy.
