NRB’s suspended Governor Adhikari resumes office

KATHMANDU, April 20: Suspended Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari resumed office on Thursday.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers had suspended Governor Adhikari accusing him of leaking sensitive information and underperforming.

After his suspension, Adhikari filed a writ petition against the government’s move demanding repeal of his suspension.

The hearing of the case was conducted on Tuesday by the bench of Justice Hari Phuyal and issued an interim order not to suspend the Governor and let him resume the office.

Following the Supreme Court’s interim order, Governor Adhikari resumed his office today.
