Monsoon plays spoilsport of PM Cup Women Cricket Tournament

Bhimdattanagar–Monsoon rain that started here from today has affected the matches under the Prime Minister Cup Women Cricket Championship that is being played here.
A match between the Armed Police Force (APF) Club and the Gandaki province set for Sunday was put off due to rain. Gandaki province has been relegated from the tournament as it had to share points after the match was called off, president of Mahakali Sports Society, Suman Bhatta, said.
The Society is the organizer of the Championship. According to Bhatta, the match between Province 1 and Province 3 which was set to be held today morning also could not take place due to rain.
"The match will not take place if it continues to rain and it looks like the rain is not stopping" he said. Altogether eight teams, including those from the seven provinces and the APF club, are participating in the championship.
The championship has been organised in collaboration with the National Sports Council (NSC) and it is underway here since the last six days.
The team clinching the title of the tournament will get Rs 400 thousand cash, trophy and certificate while the first runner-up team will get Rs 300 thousand and the second runner-up team Rs 200 thousand.
