2,807 security personnel killed during the emergency are declared as martyrs

Kathmandu- Government of Nepal has declared 2,807 security personel, killed during the ten year emergency, as martyrs. Cabinet meeting held on Monday listed 318 personel of Armed Police force, 1018 soldier of Nepal Army, 1448 Nepali police and 23 staff of National Investigation Department as martyrs.

Addressing the 18th anniversary ceremony  of Armed Police Force at its headquater on Tuesday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli informed that 2807 security personnel have been declared martyrs. "The disparity that remained toward the family of those that gave life for nation is over after the cabinet decision", prime minister Oli said ,"state will treat everyone equally."
