Devotees throng Krishna Temple, Patan (Photo Feature)
Lalitpur - A large number of devotees have thronged the Krishna temple situated in Patan Durbar Square today on the occasion of Lord Krishna's birthday commonly known as Shree Krishnashtami.
To celebrate the birthday of lord Krishna, devotees from Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and neighbouring districts flock to Krishna temples all over the country mostly Krishna Mandir in Patan Durbar Square since early morning today, said Priest of the temple Pratapdhar Sharma.
Krishna Temple is made in the Sikhara architectural style, a style that is commonly found in the Indian Subcontinent. It was established by Siddhi Narsingha Malla of Patan in 1637 AD, as a copy of another Hindu temple, a Krishna Temple in Mathura, south India.
Head of the State each year visits the temple on the occasion of Shree Krishnastami.
