Nepali Congress to Organize Disaster Management Training for Youth

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research and Training Institute is going to organize a three-day internal special training with the objective of preparing skilled manpower for natural disaster management.

According to the decision of the sixth meeting of the institute held on Shrawan 10 and 11, this training program is going to be conducted in Kathmandu on Shrawan 15, 16 and 17.

The institute has stated that 40 selected youths among the interested ones will be participating in this first phase of training. The training will not be limited to theoretical knowledge only but will also emphasize technical skills and practical exercises.

Subject matter experts who have been working in the field of natural disaster management in the country and abroad for a long time will facilitate as trainers. 

Through this training, the Nepali Congress has put forward a long-term plan to mobilize volunteers for disaster management across the country in the future. According to the institute, this campaign will be expanded in the coming days in accordance with the concept of disaster management volunteers in every district.

Krishna Prasad Dulal, acting chief secretary of the Nepali Congress central office, said in a statement on Tuesday that this training will help in building skilled youth power capable of working effectively at the public level during times of disaster.
