Parliamentary Hearing Committee to Review Election Commissioner Nominees

Kathmandu. The Parliamentary Hearing Committee meeting is being held. The agenda for the meeting scheduled for this morning is to hear the proposed Election Commissioner for the Election Commission, Gurupasad Wagle (Okhaldhunga) and Dr. Rajiv Subba (Kathmandu).

The Constitutional Council had recommended the name of Man Bahadur Karki as the Chief Election Commissioner in its meeting on June 19. Similarly, Wagle and Subba were recommended as Election Commissioners.

The President appoints the Chief Commissioner and Commissioners after the Parliamentary Hearing Committee conducts a hearing. The committee had previously called for complaints against the Chief Commissioner and Commissioners.
