Medical Officer Transferred to National Trauma Center After Attack

Kathmandu. Medical Officer Dr. Pramod Ram, who was seriously injured in the attack on a doctor at Narayani Hospital, has been brought to the National Trauma Center in Kathmandu for further treatment. Health and Food Hygiene Minister Nisha Mehta reached the Trauma Center, inquired about his health condition, and instructed the doctors and hospital administration not to compromise on his treatment.

According to the ministry, all necessary arrangements have been made to provide specialist treatment to Dr. Ram. Minister Mehta, while discussing with the doctors involved in the treatment, stated that the ministry is committed to providing all necessary support.

Meanwhile, the ministry has expressed serious concern over the vandalism at Narayani Hospital and the attack on doctors and health workers. The ministry has clarified that taking the law into one's own hands and engaging in violent activities is not acceptable under any circumstances, as legal provisions exist for the investigation of any untoward incident during treatment.

The ministry has urged the local administration to identify the culprits involved in the incident and proceed with legal action. It has also appealed to all concerned parties to ensure a safe and fearless environment in the hospital by requesting doctors and health workers to continue their services.

Minister Mehta stated that violence against health workers is unacceptable for any society and that ensuring a safe working environment in health institutions is the government's primary responsibility. 

She added that necessary legal and administrative steps will be effectively taken to prevent such incidents from recurring.
