Home Minister Sudhan Gurung Calls Central Security Committee Meeting Over Sunsari Religious Unrest

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has called a meeting of the Central Security Committee to discuss the incident of religious unrest in Sunsari. After discussing with the ministry's secretary, IGP, and the chief of the Armed Police Force on Monday morning, Minister Gurung called a meeting of the Central Security Committee in the evening.

Om Prakash Mehta, a resident of Captainganj, died from a security personnel's bullet in the clash that took place on Sunday night. Information Officer (Deputy Secretary) of the Home Ministry, Rama Acharya Subedi, informed that long-term solutions to prevent such incidents in the future will be discussed in today's meeting.

The Home Ministry has formed a committee led by a joint secretary to investigate the incident. According to Deputy Secretary Subedi, the investigation committee will have 5 members.
