Youth Dies After Self-Immolation Attempt in Dhangadhi

Kailali. A youth who attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on his body in Dhangadhi has died. The deceased has been identified as Jyoti Chaudhary, 35, of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-7, according to the police. According to Kailash Bist, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Chaudhary set himself on fire by pouring petrol on his body inside his own house on Sunday evening. Relatives immediately rescued him and took him to Seti Provincial Hospital. Doctors said that about 60 percent of his body was burnt during treatment. Although he was being prepared to be taken to Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj for further treatment due to his serious condition, relatives took him to Kathmandu. Police Inspector Bist informed that he died on the way to Dhading around 4 PM on Sunday afternoon while being taken to Kathmandu. The police stated that the process of bringing the deceased's body back to Kailali has been initiated and further investigation into the incident is underway.
