Devotees Flock to Doleshwor Mahadev Temple for Second Saune Monday

Bhaktapur. A notable crowd of devotees and pilgrims gathered at the Doleshwor Mahadev Temple in Sipadol, Bhaktapur district, for the second Saune Monday.

As Saun, considered a beloved month of Lord Shiva, and Monday are special days for Shiva, devotees have been participating in worship and rituals since early morning, offering water, milk, Belpatra, and other puja materials. Hindu followers have a tradition of fasting and worshipping the easily pleased Lord Shiva on this day.

In Nepal, the tradition of observing Saune fast on Mondays according to the solar calendar is prevalent. The Doleshwor Mahadev Temple, located in Sipadol, Bhaktapur, is known as a famous Hindu pilgrimage site. According to religious beliefs, this temple is considered the head part of India's famous Kedarnath Temple, due to which thousands of devotees from across the country visit here for darshan during the month of Saun.
