Six Statues Unveiled in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City

Nepalgunj. Six statues were unveiled in a single day in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City today. The Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Prashant Bista, unveiled these historical statues that were vandalized during the Genji movement.

Along with the statue of the late former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, the reconstructed statues of late Ganesh Man Singh, BP Koirala, founding General Secretary of the CPN Pushpalal Shrestha, former King Birendra Shah, and martyr Setu BK have been re-established in different locations in Nepalgunj.

At the unveiling ceremony, Mayor Bista stated that the statues were reconstructed with the objective of respecting history, remembering the contributions of historical personalities, and making the new generation aware of history. He said, "These are our heritage which will keep history alive."

Leaders and activists from various political parties in the district participated in the unveiling ceremony. Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has stated that approximately Rs 2.5 million was spent on the construction of five statues, excluding the statue of the late former Prime Minister Koirala.
