Madhav Kumar Nepal Calls for Renewed Communist Movement Energy

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party Co-coordinator and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that the Nepali communist movement should move forward with new energy. 

Addressing a program organized at the party central office Parisdanda on Saturday to mark the 13th death anniversary of Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, a founding member of the Communist Party of Nepal, Nepal accepted that the communist movement has faced some setbacks in the current times and needs to move forward from a new beginning. 

Co-coordinator Nepal mentioned that ups and downs are natural in the communist movement. He stated that although the movement has faced some setbacks to reach its current state, just as one gets up after falling from a horse, brushes off the dust, and moves forward with new enthusiasm, the communist movement also needs to move forward with new energy. Former Prime Minister Nepal especially emphasized the need to preserve important historical events and documents. He recalled that important records were destroyed when their house was set on fire during the Janji movement. 

Discussing the contribution of Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, leader Nepal said that Karmacharya's role in keeping the party alive even during the period of ban since the establishment of the Communist Party in 2006 BS is unforgettable. He particularly praised the leadership role played by Karmacharya in taking the labor movement to a height. Mentioning that the communist movement has reached this point due to the contributions made by warriors and leaders at various junctures of history, he said that those records should be institutionalized.
