Chief Justice and Judges from Various Countries Welcomed by Indian Supreme Court

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court of India formally welcomed Chief Justices and judges from Nepal and various other countries who are on a visit to India on Friday. 

The Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, welcomed them in Courtroom No. 1.

The delegation, which has come to participate in an international seminar organized in India, includes Nepal's Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma, judges from the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, judges from the Supreme Court of Bhutan, as well as judges from Brazil and Kenya.

At the program, India's Attorney General R Venkataramani welcomed the foreign delegation and provided information about India being a confluence of diverse traditions and judicial values.

Similarly, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, in his welcome speech, stated that a short visit provides only a little information about the country. He said, 'This short visit provides only a little information about the country, and two days is very little time to understand the diverse and vast India.'
