Fewa Lake Faces Plastic Waste, Sewage, and Encroachment Issues

Pokhara. Pokhara's main tourist destination is Fewa Lake. Fewa Lake, a center of attraction for tourists, is facing problems of plastic waste, sewage mixing, and encroachment. Bottles of water and other beverages, plastics, bags, and even shoes-sandals are found in Fewa Lake.

Even now, a pile of non-degradable waste is visible on the banks of Fewa Lake. The waste removed from cleaning the lake has been left on the bank without management. Not only in Dam Side Park and its surroundings, but water bottles are also seen floating in the lake.
