One Dead in Hotel Brawl in Bhaktapur

Kathmandu. One person has died in a brawl at a hotel in Ghyampedanda, Bhaktapur. The deceased has been identified as Raj Karki, approximately 27 years old, originally from Bardiya and residing in Sallaghari.

On the morning of Shrawan 4, Raj Karki had gone to Ghyampedanda in Suryabinayak Municipality-7 with his friends to watch the World Cup final match. A dispute arose at the Threedients Hotel while watching football, leading to a brawl, as informed by DSP Deepak Kumar Karki of the District Police Complex, Bhaktapur, to Ratopati. Karki, who was seriously injured in the beating, died during treatment at Madhyapur Hospital on Monday itself. Police Station Jagati is investigating the incident.

A dispute occurred while a group was eating together, after which a brawl ensued between 3-4 groups. Police have questioned 30 people regarding the incident. So far, the accused involved in the murder have not been arrested.

The body of the deceased Karki has been kept at KMC Hospital in Duvakot for postmortem. No injuries are visible on his body.
