GANDAKI PROVINCE SUSPENDS NIGHT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING

Kaski. Night transportation services will be suspended in eight districts of Gandaki Province. A notice issued today by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority states that vehicle movement will be stopped during the night in Kaski, Gorkha, Lamjung, Syangja, Tanahu, Baglung, Parbat, and Myagdi in Gandaki.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority made this decision after the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology forecast extremely heavy rainfall in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province today and Sunday.

The authority has requested people not to go far from home except for urgent necessities and not to travel at night during the said period. All concerned parties have been requested to exercise high vigilance and prepare for disasters as flood, landslide, and other disaster incidents may occur at any time.

Kaski's Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral informed that night transportation services departing from Kaski and passing through the district to other places will be completely closed today and Sunday.
