Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City Enacts 154 Laws

Dang. Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City has so far enacted 154 different laws. According to the coordinator of the Law Committee, Bhim Bahadur Kunwar Yogi, these laws were passed from 2075 BS to Asar 2083 BS.

These laws have been enacted to make the city's service delivery systematic, lawful, and reliable by exercising the authority granted by Article 226 of the Constitution of Nepal and the Local Government Operation Act, 2074. According to him, 89 procedures, 41 acts, and five regulations have been passed.

Additionally, the sub-metropolitan city has enacted and implemented nine standards, four directives, three action plans, and one law each for policy, strategy, and plan/guidance.

The Law Committee has continued the process of identifying the need for legislation, discussing with stakeholders, and drafting and getting approved by the executive and the municipal assembly, mentioned coordinator Yogi. According to him, recently, procedures such as stone registration and management, operation of animal service programs, house rent tax management, and cost-sharing project operation in 2082 BS have been passed by the municipal assembly.

Similarly, procedures related to the formation of consumer committees and fire engine management have also come into implementation. Coordinator Yogi informed that five more laws, including financial assistance, communication, subsidy based on milk production, sports development, and operation of Tulsipur Multipurpose Complex building, are currently in the drafting and discussion phase to make the local government's services faster and more effective.
