Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence Across Nepal with Heavy Rainfall Warnings

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon wind's influence is present across the country, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated. The monsoon low-pressure line is currently located slightly above its average position in the west, around the Terai region of Nepal, and near its average position in the east.

Due to this, there is generally cloudy weather across the country. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in Sudurpaschim province.

This afternoon, most of the country will be cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in many places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some places in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in many places in the hilly and Terai regions of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in a few places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. The Division has urged special vigilance due to the high risk of floods and landslides in areas with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall.
