Koshi Province Mandates Local Production Uniforms for Employees

Biratnagar. The Koshi Province government has implemented the provision of uniform allowance for employees from the fiscal year 2082/083 to encourage the province's production. The government has directed employees to compulsorily use office uniforms made from Dhaka, Khadi, and Allo, and other fabrics produced within the Koshi Province. The Chief Minister and Council of Ministers' Office, Koshi Province, informed that this arrangement has been implemented on Wednesdays and Fridays. Accordingly, employees of the Ministry of Social Development have started wearing uniforms made from local products from today. The government has made it mandatory to wear uniforms made from local products two days a week. For this, an additional Rs 5,500 per person annually has been provided as special uniform allowance on top of the regularly provided uniform allowance. Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki stated that from the fiscal year 2083/084, if local levels in Koshi Province wish to participate in this campaign, the provincial government will provide cost-sharing policy and necessary budget arrangements. According to Chief Minister Karki, this campaign will encourage the production, marketing, and use of local products such as Dhaka, Khadi, and Allo produced in Koshi Province. This is expected to directly benefit local industries and entrepreneurs. Currently, approximately 3,096 employees are working under the Koshi Province government. The approved sanctioned strength is more than 4,000.
