Youth Union Protests State Abuse Against Squatters in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. The All Nepal Youth Union has protested in Kathmandu, accusing the state of abuse and terror against squatters. The union protested at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Sunday, stating that the government is moving forward with anti-people policies. 

The union claimed that Ganesh Nepali was forced to attempt self-immolation due to the inhumane behavior of the police and demanded an investigation into the incident and action against the guilty. Subas GC, the president of the union, said that they have come to protest against the state's behavior towards squatters and the reason Ganesh Nepali was forced to attempt self-immolation. 

He said, 'We have come to protest against the abuse and terror by the state against squatters. Due to the inhumane way the police behaved, Ganesh Nepali was put in a situation to attempt self-immolation. We have come to protest taking these two issues into consideration.'

Protests have been ongoing at Maitighar in Kathmandu for a long time with demands for proper management of squatters.
