Education Officer Attacked with Black Mobil in Dang

Dang. An incident of abuse by pouring black mobil on an education officer has come to light due to a dispute over the election of the School Management Committee of Padmodaya Secondary School in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-15, Dang. 

Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City Education Officer Ajay Bohora was abused by Ward Member Lekhnath Budhathoki of Ward No. 15 by pouring black mobil on him. 

Ward member Budhathoki poured mobil on Education Officer Bohora and abused him, and further investigation into the incident is underway, District Police Office Dang Information Officer (DSP) Dr. Hem KC told Ratopati. 

KC said, ‘There was a disagreement between one party that the election should be held by consensus and the party that it should go to election. The ward member insisted that the election should not be held. Then there was a dispute and preliminary investigation shows that black mobil was poured on the education officer and he was abused. When tracked, he might be in Rolpa. We are coordinating with the Rolpa District Police Office. This incident is from Saturday.’

Some teacher organizations active in Dang have expressed their objection to the incident where Bohora, an officer from the Social Development Division of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, who was assigned as the voting officer on the eve of the voting to be held for the formation of the School Management Committee, was attacked, insulted, smeared with soot, and hit with a bottle in a public place under the leadership of Ward Member Budhathoki of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-15.

In a statement issued by the Nepal National Teachers' Organization, it is stated, ‘We strongly demand that the individuals involved in this incident, which was carried out with criminal intent in a public place, disrupting peace and security and creating terror, against a public servant who came to fulfill his responsibilities to complete the formal work of a peace zone like a school, be investigated and given the maximum punishment according to the law.’

Furthermore, we want to draw the serious attention of the concerned bodies to maintain complete peace and security in any school and school activities in the coming days and to guarantee the security of teachers, staff, students, and parents.’
