Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence Across Nepal with Potential for Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon wind's influence is present across the country. The low-pressure line of the monsoon is located south of the average position in the eastern part of Nepal and around the average position in the western part.

Due to this, there is generally cloudy weather across the country. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, the sky will be generally cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places in the mountainous regions of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places in the hilly and terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few places in the Madhesh province and the hilly regions of Karnali province. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly regions of the country. There is a possibility of dust storms in some places in the terai regions of Madhesh province, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. 

Tonight, the sky will be mostly cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places in the mountainous regions of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many places in the hilly and terai regions of Madhesh province, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some places in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. 

There is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some places in the hilly and terai regions of Madhesh province, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, the department has stated.
