Flood Warning Issued for Small Rivers Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Flood Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of sudden floods in small rivers in various parts of the country. The division today issued a bulletin publicizing the flood forecast for today, tomorrow, and the day after. According to the division, the water flow in small rivers flowing through Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Bardiya, Kailali, and surrounding districts is likely to increase significantly today. The division has stated that there is a low risk of sudden floods in these rivers. Similarly, tomorrow and the day after, it is forecasted that the water flow in some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhesh provinces may also increase suddenly. However, the situation of major rivers is currently normal. According to measurements this morning, the flow of Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali, and their tributaries is below the warning level. Furthermore, the division has clarified that the flow of the Kankai, Kamala, Eastern Rapti, and Western Rapti rivers is also currently below the warning level.
