Major Highways Affected by Rain, Landslides, and Road Maintenance

Kathmandu. Major highways in various districts of the country have been affected due to floods, landslides caused by continuous rain, and road maintenance. The concerned bodies, providing an update as of 9 AM on Friday, stated that some roads are completely blocked, some are operating one-way, and traffic has been stopped in some places.

In Koshi Province, the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur Municipality-7, Bhojpur, is operating one-way due to floods. The Mechi Highway in Rong Rural Municipality-3 Rautabari, Ilam, and the Mid-Hill Highway in Myanglung Municipality-6 Simle, Tehrathum, are operating one-way due to landslides.

Traffic has been stopped on the Bhakundebesi-Nepalethok-Dhulikhel road section in Kavrepalanchok due to the risk of potential floods. Similarly, the BP Highway in the Roshhi Rural Municipality-11 Kaladhunga-Chisapani section is operating one-way.

In Makwanpur, the road section from Kulekhani-Phakhel towards Humane-Phakhel-Kathmandu, located in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2 and 5 Mahalakshmi area, is undergoing maintenance, and vehicles other than essential ones have been urged to use alternative routes. The Mugling-Narayangadh road section in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 Panidhara, Chitwan, is also affected by landslides but is in operation.

The Salyankot-Gorusinghe road section in Panini Rural Municipality-3 Dungedanda, Arghakhanchi, has been affected by landslides. The Siddhartha Highway in Tansen Municipality-8 Dumre area, Palpa, is operating one-way.

In Rukum Paschim, the Vheri Corridor, connecting Jajarkot-Dolpa, is completely blocked due to continuous rain in the Athbiskot Municipality-9 Rimjikhola area.
