Iran and Qatar Hold High-Level Talks on US Deal Implementation and Frozen Assets

Doha. High-level talks between Iran and Qatar to be held today will discuss the implementation of the understanding reached between America and Iran and the issue of Iran's frozen assets.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai said that in the talks to be held in Doha, there will be discussions with the Qatari side on the implementation of some provisions of the memorandum of understanding. According to him, this will also include the matter of releasing Iran's frozen assets.

However, Baghai clarified that there are no plans for the Iranian negotiating team to meet with the American delegation in the near future. Meanwhile, Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari informed that US Special Envoy Steve Witcoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner have arrived in Doha.

According to him, they have come to discuss with the Qatari mediators. However, he clarified that no direct meeting between the American delegation and Iranian officials has been scheduled. 

Ansari said that Iran's frozen funds worth approximately 6 billion US dollars have not yet been transferred to it, and the amount will be made available to Iran according to the progress of the talks.
