Mexico Leads Ecuador 2-0 in FIFA World Cup First Half

Kathmandu. In the FIFA World Cup's Round of 32 clash, host Mexico has taken a 2-0 lead against Ecuador in the first half. 

In the match held in Mexico City, the home team Mexico adopted an aggressive strategy from the beginning of the game. In the 22nd minute of the game, Julian Quinones scored a spectacular goal to give Mexico the initial lead. 

Advancing the ball from the left flank, his powerful shot hit the inside of the goalpost and found the net. Before the joy of the first goal could subside, experienced striker Raul Jimenez added another spectacular goal in the 31st minute. 

Taking advantage of the opponent's inability to control the ball near the penalty box, Jimenez's shot from 20 yards away went straight into the top corner, strengthening Mexico's position. 

Ecuador's defense looked very weak and under pressure in the first half. However, Ecuador also created some goal-scoring opportunities. One of John Yeboah's shots hit the goalpost and came back, while another excellent shot by him was saved by Mexican goalkeeper Raul Rangel with a dive. 

The winner of this match will face the winner of the match between England and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Round of 16.
